Today was one of those days that remind me how complex professional growth can feel.
I received a few kind messages congratulating me on being a top producer and for driving new business — words that truly mean a lot and affirm the effort I’ve put into my work. But in that same day, during a meeting, it was also noted that I’ve struggled to gain traction with some of the larger companies in my territory.
It’s a humbling reminder that success and challenge often exist side by side.
In sales — and really in any career — it’s easy to get caught up in the metrics, the leaderboards, and the wins. But behind every closed deal, there’s another conversation still waiting to be started. Every success should fuel our confidence, but not our complacency.
The lesson I take from today is this: celebrate the good times. Appreciate the encouragement. But stay grounded. The next call, the next meeting, the next opportunity — it could be the one that changes everything.
Staying hungry while staying humble — that’s the balance I want to carry forward.
